We didn’t want to make out film opening dark but instead have a sort of light-hearted
feeling. In order to establish this type of atmosphere, my group and I were
brainstorming ideas and thought of using primary colors of the color wheel for
costumes, mostly bright red, yellow, green, and purple fabrics, and wanted a style that
equates to everyday clothing that will be suitable in hot climates since the setting will
be in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. We received inspiration of these bright colors from the
such as death, the director established a light-hearted tone through their bright-colored
clothing in all the characters. Here is a picture of the costume designs we were intrigued
by.
In addition to costume design, we also wanted to follow the same style of music that
Pushing Daisies incorporated for sound. The background music was creative a positive,
happy tone through the use of upbeat rhythms and tunes. Since the music has to be
original or royalty-free, I was thinking to play some upbeat chords on a piano (that I
have at my house) or even create a mini background song to use in our opening film.
However, this may take long, so we are not sure if we will use this method. I’ll let you
know what we decide.
Bye for now!
