During class, my group members and I started planning a storyboard, and we all agreed
on the first couple scenes, which are of Margo (our main character) packing her clothes
and preparing to run away. The following picture is our storyboard.
It will start with a black screen and then immediately cut to a high angle shot of a bag and
a shirt. Then, a pair of hand will take the shirt and put it into the bag, which hints to the
audience that Margo is packing her clothes to run away from home; this scene will be
portrayed through a point of view shot. We thought it would be creative to include the
credits on the articles of clothing. For example, in the third box, we wanted to put “Starring
Paola Toro” on Margo’s pants; we thought this artistic approach would capture the
audience’s attention. We received inspiration for this technique from the movie
Napoleon Dynamite. The director of this film Jared Hess incorporated the opening credits
with condiments on food. This picture is an example from the opening credits of Napoleon
Dynamite.
We know the storyboard is short, but we could not decide how much of the film opening she should be preparing her escape from home. The preparation should not take most of the time because we still want to incorporate reasons for her departure from home and the boy’s inclusion in the film. By the way, we are still deciding the male character’s name. I will let you know of the details of this next post!
Bye for now!
